MARTINI: Malicious actors profiling and detection in Online Social Networks through Artificial Intelligence

Contract Number

222N310

Description

The MARTINI Project offers a broad taxonomy of malicious actors in Online Social Networks through meticulous online content analysis and NLP technology. Text is one of the most important instruments in OSNs to share information. The rise of anti-immigrant and anti-vaccination content on OSNs has created a need for joint effort to analyse this situtation. Besides, the amount of information, the different languages that coexist or the specific differences in the use the language that are present in OSNs makes it vital to develop Natural Language Processing models with context and semantic-awareness to tackle this issue.

The project will produce the following outcomes:

  • Analysis and characterization of malicious actors in the context of anti-vax and anti-immigration movements
  • Development of multimodal models for content characterization
  • Development of detection models for malicious actors detection in OSNs
  • Development of NLP models for characterizing malicious actors in OSNs:
